Pyongyang, August 1 (KCNA) -- A presentation of technology and experience in the agricultural sector for the first half of the year took place in Haeju City, South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK from July 29 to 31.

Present at the presentation were officials in the agricultural sector across the country including the Agricultural Commission, provincial rural economy committees and city and county agricultural management committees.

Introduced there were successes made in reaping good harvest in wheat farming by introducing high-yielding strains suited to their regions, putting the cultivation on a scientific basis and raising the level of mechanization of farm work.

The participants also heard about the experience gained in growing rice seedlings in greenhouses and raising nutritive cold-bed rice seedlings, the method of effectively exterminating various kinds of harmful insects and the production of degradable mulching paper.

The presentation highly appreciated the technology and experience of great significance in developing the country's agriculture on a sustainable basis.

During the presentation there were visits to the agricultural management officials training school under the South Hwanghae Provincial Rural Economic Committee, the Haeju Agricultural Goods Production Station and the Haeju Plastic Goods Processing Station. -0-
