DPRK Premier Inspects Various Sectors

Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, made a field survey of various sectors.

The premier visited Samjiyon City where he learned about the remodeling of Samjiyon Airport and the progress made in construction projects for sprucing up the city into a fresh and highly civilized city as planned and intended by the Party including the construction of the tourist resort in the northern area of Mt Phothae, the Ponnamu Hotel and the Sobaeksu Hotel and inquired into the problems arising in the projects.

He stressed the need to push ahead with the construction of tourist roads and railways as planned, take thorough measures for protecting the ecological environment and forests, strengthen the workforce in keeping with the additional construction of various projects and enhance the responsibility and role of the construction inspectors so as to avoid any slightest shortcomings in ensuring the quality of construction.

He said that the Wonsan General Fishing Implement Factory should train a large number of competent technicians, increase the ranks of skilled workers and raise the proportion of locally available raw materials and recycling to produce more fishing implements of various kinds, thus making a substantial contribution to the country.

The premier visited the Pyongyang Construction Machine Plant and the Pyongyang Grain Processing Machine Factory to learn in detail about the manufacturing of equipment needed by regional-industry factories and stressed the need to strengthen their own technical forces to increase the processing accuracy of equipment and steadily improve the productivity and convenience of operation.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue for the relevant units to supply equipment and materials necessary for the construction of Samjiyon City in a responsible manner and step up the finishing work in a qualitative way, the issue of raising the level of modernization of equipment for producing the fishing implements and the issue of strengthening the sci-tech force so as to make a qualitative leap forward in the production of machinery and equipment, and took measures for them.

Meanwhile, the premier visited the construction site of the general inclined shaft of the Anju Area Coal Mining Complex to learn about the tunneling and concreting. While going round the Namchil and Songhak farms in the city of Anju, he called for manuring and cultivating the crops in a scientific way according to their growth state and increasing the production of greenhouse vegetables. -0-
