One day in May 2012, the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the Rungna Water Park under construction in the capital city of Pyongyang to give detailed guidance over its construction.

Examining its draft design despite the dust wind, the General Secretary said that if only tiles or paving blocks are laid on the side of water tank at the park, there would be no place for people to lie after coming out from water. And he added that it would be advisable to create in space between the bathing booth and the water tank a lawn or a sandy beach.

Then, he instructed officials to make a sand beach with quality sand from Monggumpho, saying that people would like a sandy beach better than a lawn to lie on.

The officials were so surprised with the fact that sand beach would be made at the water park, rather than a seaside resort, with famous Monggumpho sand.

After all, the Rungna Water Park came to have a sand beach covered with sand from Monggumpho in Ryongyon County of South Hwanghae Province. -0-
