Some areas of North Phyongan Province and Jagang Province of the DPRK suffered flood damage in late July 2024.

The respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un personally guided on the spot the work to rescue and evacuate the inhabitants in the flood-hit area and the area that damage was predicted in North Phyongan Province.

The inhabitants were saved. However, the material damage was serious and the restoration work to be done in the future was enormous.

The General Secretary planned the next-stage essential undertakings without delay.

He could convene a meeting in Pyongyang as the worst of sudden crisis was over but he could not delay it even a moment.

He decided to convene a meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea on the spot as the miserable circumstance of the flood-hit area still came into his mind and inconvenience the inhabitants would feel at temporary residences in such sweltering weather every moment came across his mind as an unbearable pain.

So, the 22nd emergency enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK was held at a train which stopped near a flooded paddy field between the flood waving like sea and a bank.

At the meeting, the General Secretary said that we had undergone such crisis more than once and at every time we had been always brave and offensive in the face of crisis and worked miracles only, stressing the need to turn out in the struggle for overcoming the crisis once again to bring about miraculous achievements.

Adopted at the meeting was a decision of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee "On rapidly recovering the damage from flood in North Phyongan and Jagang provinces".

The emergency enlarged meeting on the day, to be specially recorded in the history of the WPK, was another impressive picture showing what are the revolutionary character and the mode of existence of the WPK and where its vigorous guiding force comes from. -0-
