One day in May 2015, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the Sinpho Distant-Sea Fishery Complex and dropped in at the sci-tech learning space.

After looking round the sci-tech learning space for a while, the General Secretary said that it should not be confined to building a scientific and technological base but be equipped with a large number of valuable scientific and technological data suited to the world trend so that people can actively use them.

He said that the development of the country depends on the development of science and technology, scientific and technological research should be conducted not only by scientists and technicians but also by all people, and for it, everyone should study hard under the study-while-working educational system and all units should build up sci-tech learning spaces well and operate them on a regular basis.

Officials were remorseful.

Thinking that scientific and technological research is conducted by a specified few people, they did not pay attention to making sure that everyone possesses modern science and technology and promotes the production of the complex by dint of them.
