On the March 8 International Women's Day in 2018, the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un hosted a significant reception and invited to it the defence scientists together with their wives.

Making a congratulatory address at the reception, the General Secretary proudly reviewed again the praiseworthy successes achieved by the Workers' Party of Korea in the previous year. And he stressed that the credit for such successes went to the unknown efforts of those women as well as to the indomitable struggle of the defence scientists, their husbands, and the working class with ardent loyalty to the Party.

He said that all the wives gathered there were persons of merits.

The wives were deeply moved to tears by the great loving care of the General Secretary regarding their devoted services for their husbands as the valuable merits.

That day, he had a photo taken with scientists, officials and their wives.
