Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- The Sodusu Power Station in the DPRK marked its 60th founding anniversary.

The 60-year-long journey covered by the power station is the glorious one associated with the devotion, efforts, loving care and trust of the peerlessly great men who made sure that the power station was built as a great power base in the northern part of the country and led it to bring about a radical turn in the electricity production and its management and operation.

President Kim Il Sung gave the orientation and ways for designing the main dam of the power station in conformity with the actual conditions of the country and made sure that the power station was founded on July 6, 1965 and clearly indicated the road ahead of it.

Chairman Kim Jong Il visited several times the power station successfully built as a gigantic creation in the era of the Workers' Party under the far-reaching plan of the President and gave precious instructions for normalizing the production of electricity.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un encouraged the workers of the power station to conduct the dynamic drive for increased electricity production.

In recent years alone, the power station has introduced many technical innovations and invention proposals to increase the production of electricity while giving many benefits to the state.

A meeting was held on July 5 to mark its 60th anniversary.
