Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- Edifices symbolic of the era are springing up in different parts of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to demonstrate its power for great progress toward comprehensive development of socialist construction. The endless laughter of its citizens, excited at this epoch-making transformation, further highlights the truthfulness and vitality of the regional development policy of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

Regional-industry factories newly built under the Regional Development 20×10 Policy were inaugurated with a splendid ceremony in Jangyon County on Dec. 18.

The venue for the inauguration ceremony were filled with boundless gratitude and absolute trust in the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who opened up a bright prospect for building ideal socialist society, where all the people across the country enjoy new richer, happier and highly civilized life, and is translating it into present reality with his determined efforts.

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, attended the inauguration ceremony.

When he arrived at the venue, all the participants broke into stormy cheers of "Hurrah!"

They extended the highest respect to the outstanding leader of the revolution and the benevolent father of the people, who is adorning every year on this land with gigantic changes through his days and months filled with his fervent love and devotion for the people.

Present at the ceremony were leading officials of the WPK Central Committee, chief secretaries of the provincial committees of the WPK, commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence of the DPRK and large combined units of the Korean People's Army, officials of South Hwanghae Province and the county, working people and soldier-builders.

Ri Il Hwan, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, addressed the ceremony.

The speaker warmly congratulated all the citizens in the county on holding a significant ceremony of inaugurating the new light industrial factories assuring them of their hometown's rosy future in the presence of Kim Jong Un, saying that the auspicious season of industrial factories' inauguration for successfully concluding this year, throughout which dynamic regional transformation has been pushed forward, has arrived in Jangyon County, too.

He also extended thanks to the soldier-builders, officials, workers, scientists and technicians in the relevant sector who added a new page of fresh transformation to the sacred history of regional development through an indomitable campaign.

Saying that the strong trend of the great era is rapidly transforming the whole country, he noted that modern hospitals, leisure complexes and other entities of transformation that match those in the capital city are being erected in cities and counties, and it is a remarkable change brought about by the noble intention and untiring efforts of Kim Jong Un to make the people more keenly realize in their daily life the advantages of their state system guided by the people-first principle through thoroughgoing and successful implementation of the regional development strategy.

Recalling that Kim Jong Un, who indicated the concrete orientation, tasks and methodologies for successfully carrying out the gigantic revolutionary undertaking to eliminate the centuries-old backwardness of the regions and realize the cherished desire of the regional citizens, has made sure that the yearly construction processes serve as leaps forward to a higher stage, the speaker said that under his outstanding leadership, one-tenth of the regions came to have the solid foundation for independent development last year and one-fifth of them this year already.

New structures, including a modern hospital and leisure complex, will be built in Jangyon County in the future as part of the efforts for implementing the regional development policy that are expanding year by year, he said, adding that the county should set much store by the assets of high civilization provided by the new era, push ahead with the undertakings for regional development on this basis and thus make more significant progress in improving the living standards of the county citizens.

He ardently called for remaining loyal to the ideas and leadership of Kim Jong Un and waging more dynamic struggle for the steady implementation of the regional development policy and the future of the country which will be highly civilized and prosperous.

At the venue of the inauguration ceremony, which witnessed the exciting moments to be eternally recorded in the history of the country along with the new era of regional development, fireworks of celebration were let off and a great number of balloons flied up into the sky over the county.

All the participants fervently cheered, so excited to have the great honor of celebrating with splendor the day of inauguration in the presence of Kim Jong Un whom they have longed to see even in their dreams.

A child presented a bouquet of fragrant flowers to Kim Jong Un in reflection of the county citizens' unanimous reverence for him.

Kim Jong Un met some working people participating in the inauguration ceremony and shook hands with them one by one, warmly wishing them a happy future.

He went round the regional-industry factories.

He said that in the course of undergoing a significant change in the second year for bringing about a radical transformation in the regions and improving the living standards of the people across the country, we further hardened the belief that when we strenuously explore the path toward development and prosperity in our own way and make courageous efforts under the uplifted banner of self-reliance, there will be no unachievable ideal and a socialist paradise can be surely built on this land.

It is the desire of our Party and the primary goal of its regional development policy to turn all cities and counties of the country into self-supporting and well-off ones by firmly consolidating the foundation of regional development and radically improving the material and cultural living standards of the regional people, he added.

Tasting products of the county foodstuff factory, including wheat paste and sauce, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the factory attaches great importance to the quality of products.

Saying it is really spectacular to see the foodstuff factory making products with a local brand through an advanced beer production line, he stressed that it is the correct implementation of the Party policies and the further development to increase the indices of production conducive to improving the material life of the residents in the county with raw materials abundant in the region and bring out excellent products.

Saying that the taste and quality of products depend on the sincerity and skill of producers, he called for compiling the guidelines on the detailed quality indices and standard operation for every process, ranging from the sorting of raw materials to the shipping of products, and establishing a system for strictly observing them. At the same time, it is necessary to organize a brisk competition for developing new products and improving quality among the newly-built regional-industry factories in order to create and improve the atmosphere of advancing and developing all together, he said.

Saying that it is noticeable that progress has been made in a different fashion this year, when compared to last year, in architectural design, technical aspects of construction and indices of products, and that if we make strenuous efforts to attain the far-reaching ideal and high goal, the vitality of the regional development policy will get stronger with each passing year, he clarified some important tasks arising in building regional-industry factories next year and promoting the independence of provinces, cities and counties.

Highly appreciating the steadfast patriotic loyalty of all officers and men of the 124th regiments at different levels of the Korean People's Army, he expressed expectation and belief that they would successfully carry out the further expanded projects for regional development policy on the basis of the potentials and experience they gained through the construction of last year and this year.

Kim Jong Un earnestly asked the officials of Jangyon County and employees of the regional-industry factories to keep the production going at a high rate, mindful that to make the county citizens well off is just meant to live up to the benevolence of the Party.

Seeing the county citizens being pleased with various kinds of condiments, confectionery, daily necessities and clothes with county brands, the leading officials more keenly realized that Kim Jong Un's devoted efforts bring about the happiness of people and hasten the bright future of the prospering country.

The successive inauguration of regional-industry factories, the precious fruition of the people-first politics of the great WPK, is greatly encouraging the people across the country going all out in the patriotic advance for creation toward the glorious Party Congress with firm confidence in their cause and ideal. -0-
