Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- DPRK Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui sent a message of sympathy to Ali Bagheri Kani, deputy foreign minister for Political Affairs of Iran, on May 23 as regards Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian's demise by an unforeseen accident.

The message said that Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was an accomplished veteran diplomat who made great contributions to defending the sovereignty and legitimate rights of Iran and enhancing the international prestige of the country.

Noting that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between Korea and Iran, where his noble efforts pervade, will continue to expand and develop on the road of independence against imperialism, the message hoped that the bereaved family will find peace as soon as possible. -0-
