Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- Kaesong Municipality of the DPRK is taking foresighted measures to reduce drought damage.
The Haeson Vegetable Farm and the Uipho Farm under the municipal rural economy committee have been furnished with irrigation and pumping power equipment and pushed ahead with the work to secure water resources needed for this year's farming.
Kaephung District concentrated efforts and means on repairing storing facilities of water to lay a foundation for irrigating fields of various farms.
Officials and agricultural workers in Phanmun District, in collaboration with agricultural scientists and technicians, are directing efforts to developing and introducing advanced farming techniques capable of minimizing drought damage while displaying a high sense of responsibility in fertilization suited to the characteristics of strains and soil conditions.
Jangphung County takes measures to increase the ability to cope with natural disasters and pays primary attention to putting the water management of paddy fields on a scientific basis of higher level. -0-
