Celebration Events Held at DPRK Missions Abroad

Pyongyang, February 23 (KCNA) -- Such events as reception, friendly meeting, book and photo exhibition and film show were held at the DPRK missions in Vladivostok and Khabarovsk of Russia, Shenyang and Dandong of China, Vietnam, Laos, Mongolia, Singapore, Iran, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Kuwait, Thailand, Pakistan, Germany, Romania, Belarus, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic, Nigeria, South Africa, Algeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea, Mexico and Venezuela and the DPRK permanent mission to the UN Office and international organizations in Geneva and the DPRK permanent mission at the UN from February 10 to 16 to celebrate the 83rd birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Present there on invitation were personages of parliaments, governments, political parties, organizations and institutions of relevant countries and foreign diplomatic envoys in those countries. Officials of the DPRK missions were on hand.

Screened at the film shows were a film dealing with the exploits of Kim Jong Il who made great contributions to the accomplishment of the cause of global independence and videos showing the picture of the DPRK making a radical development under the guidance of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

Speeches were made at the events.

Speakers praised the great Comrade Kim Jong Il as a renowned political activist, outstanding state leader, peerlessly great statesman and peerless patriot.

Lauding the DPRK people for having achieved proud successes in the work to make comprehensive national rejuvenation under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the speakers wished them greater progress in their future struggle. -0-
