Pyongyang, May 16 (KCNA) -- Kim Chaek City in North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK is channeling efforts to the construction of building-materials production base.

The city has intensified guidance to step up the construction while taking measures for the designing, the construction work and the supply of equipment and materials.

It has pushed ahead with the internal and external work after finishing the foundation and framework projects in a short span of time through the active application of labor- and materials-saving methods.

While providing scientists and technicians with better working and living conditions, it is encouraging them to solve sci-tech problems arising in developing and producing building materials with regional characteristics by taking into account the actual possibilities.

Meanwhile, it has introduced the successes and experience of the advanced units in strengthening the foundations for the production of building materials in conformity with the actual conditions and trained skilled workers so that they can start production immediately after the completion of the base. -0-
