Pyongyang, February 20 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a message of greeting from D. Medvedev, president of the United Russia Party, on Feb. 18.

The message said:

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un,

I extend the warmest greetings to you on the occasion of the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.

I am convinced that the decisions to be adopted at the Party Congress will add great vitality to the sustained and multifaceted development of the DPRK and further strengthen the country's potentialities in all fields and sectors.

The strategic partnership between Russia and the DPRK is based on the long-standing traditions of friendship and cooperation.

On this basis, our countries are resolutely countering the pressure from outside and ensuring stability and security in the Asia-Pacific region.

In recent years, the relations between the United Russia Party and the Workers' Party of Korea have played a more significant role in developing cooperation between Russia and the DPRK.

We hope that the trustworthy dialogue between the two parties will steadily deepen to the most comprehensive extent, including the issues of mutual concern.
