Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- A workshop for the chairpersons of city and country committees of the youth league took place at the Youth League Hall from March 4 to 7.

The workshop dealt with practical issues for further strengthening the functions and role of the city and county youth league committees and vigorously conducting the league work as required by the new era of comprehensive national rejuvenation, with the main emphasis put on firmly preparing the youth league officials and members as genuine successors to the revolution.

The performers referred to the tasks and ways for preparing all the youths to be passionate vanguard fighters intensely loyal to the ideology and leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea while regarding it as the foremost lifeline to thoroughly establish the monolithic leadership system of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un throughout the league.

They stressed that the city and county youth league committees should bring about a radical turn in the league work as intended by the Party and conduct the ideological education among the youths in a realistic, fresh and effective way.

They called for conducting an information and motivation offensive in diverse forms and methods to inspiringly arouse the masses to the implementation of the Party's decisions and vigorously launching various mass movements with the main stress put on intensifying a drive for increased production and economy so as to stir up the young people's revolutionary and patriotic zeal.

They stressed the need for the youth league officials to acquire the political and practical qualifications and traits as befitting a youth official in the new era and become a devoted fighter and a staunch practician guiding the masses with personal examples.

The workshop heard speeches about the successes and experience gained by youth league officials of different units in their work.

During the workshop, the participants conducted various political and cultural work including visits and video show. -0-
