Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) -- The General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), a dignified overseas compatriots' organization of the DPRK, significantly celebrates its 70th anniversary.

Thanks to the founding of Chongryon on May 25, 1955, the movement of Koreans in Japan developed into a patriotic movement serving their country with a clear programme and fighting goal guided by the Juche idea.

Chongryon and the movement of Koreans in Japan, which have covered the road of victory after victory along the orbit of Juche, are ushering in a new heyday of their development under the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un sent a letter "Let Us Usher in A New Golden Age of the Movement of Koreans in Japan True to the Intention of the Great Comrade Kim Jong Il" to Chongryon and Koreans Resident in Japan on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Chongryon’s Founding on May 25, 2015.

In his letter, he comprehensively indicated the orientation and main tasks for ushering in a new heyday of the movement of Koreans in Japan and ways for carrying out the tasks.

The letter sent to the participants in the 25th Congress of Chongryon on May 28, 2022 served as an immortal programme and driving force to be consistently held fast to in strengthening Chongryon, a dignified overseas citizens' organization of the DPRK, and developing the movement of Koreans in Japan on a steady basis.

He met the members of the art troupe of Korean schoolchildren in Japan who visited the socialist homeland and took part in the new year performance at the headquarters building of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and had a photo taken with them.

His energetic leadership and warm care served as a powerful driving force and nutritive element of patriotism pushing the movement of Koreans in Japan to a steady upsurge.

In recent years Chongryon has expanded and strengthened the patriotic forces centered on the new generation and laid a solid foundation for ushering in a new heyday of the movement of Koreans in Japan through various mass movements.

Today Chongryon officials and Koreans in Japan are dashing toward the higher phase of a new heyday of the movement of Koreans in Japan under the blueprint for Chongryon's prosperity, keeping pace with the socialist homeland. -0-
