Efforts Made to Strengthen Material and Technical Foundation for Chemical Industry

Pyongyang, March 29 (KCNA) -- A drive for increased production is being waged at chemical industrial bases of the DPRK to glorify the first year of implementing the new five-year plan with proud labor achievements.

Workers of industrial establishments across the country are making progress in increasing the productivity while directing efforts to consolidating the material and technical foundations.

The Namhung Youth Chemical Complex has taken measures to ensure the full-capacity operation of compressors, synthetic towers, drying furnaces and other equipment, guarantee the stability of the overall system and reduce the cost.

The Hungnam Fertilizer Complex is increasing the production of ammonia by ensuring the normal operation of the modern condenser separation tower, while repairing the gas generators and pushing ahead with the work to reduce the consumption of electricity, coal, etc.

The February 8 Vinalon Complex has increased the production of various kinds of chemical products and made successes in creating new production capacity through the increased operation rate of equipment and strengthened inter-process ties.

The Sunchon Chemical Complex focuses on upgrading the performance of equipment and facilitating the recycling to activate the production of nutrient solution.

Meanwhile, the Myonggan Chemical Factory, the Pyongyang Rubber Factory and the Ponghwa Chemical Factory are putting spurs to carrying out their plans and consolidating the production foundations while making effective use of their existing capabilities. -0-
