Pyongyang, November 16 (KCNA) -- Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of various sectors of the national economy.
He visited the Ryongdae Youth Coal Mine of the Sunchon Area Youth Coal-mining Complex, the Songnam Youth Coal Mine of the Pukchang Area Youth Coal-mining Complex and the Kaechon Coal Mine of the Kaechon Area Coal-mining Complex to encourage the coal miners to wage a dynamic drive for increased production and creation for attaining this year's goal for coal production.
He called upon the officials to remember the importance of increasing coal production at present, to organize and direct production scrupulously, to give definite precedence to prospecting and tunneling, to secure enough reserve coal cutting faces, and to further increase the transport capacity and the proportion of the pit labor done by machines.
At the Chongchongang Thermal Power Plant, he underscored the need to successfully solve the problems in revitalizing production by reducing the costs of electricity production and improving the efficiency of generating equipment in close cooperation with a scientific research institute and thus unconditionally carry out the assigned electricity production plan.
He learned in detail about the production at the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex and stressed the need to ensure in a responsible manner the assembling of compressors which is being conducted at the final stage and their trial runs and to actively develop and apply rational operating methods so as to radically increase fertilizer production.
Inspecting the Hard Alloy Production Station of the Academy of Coal Mining Science under the Ministry of Coal Industry and the Ryonggang Stone Processing Factory, he called for pushing ahead with the modernization in a planned way and producing stone goods needed for major projects in a qualitative way.
The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of fully supplying coal mines with materials, equipment and accessories, the issue of scrupulously managing equipment and improving technical control to steadily boost the production of electricity and the issue of increasing fertilizer production by making effective use of the existing production capacity. -0-
