Pyongyang, May 14 (KCNA) -- The respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un made public the immortal classical work "Modern Tree Nurseries Should Be Built to Conduct a More Vigorous Forest Restoration Campaign" on May 14, 2016.

The work indicates the tasks and ways for covering the whole country with trees and flowers, including the issue of building land- and labor-saving tree nurseries that produce saplings in a scientific, industrial and intensive way in all provinces and the issue of dynamically conducting a mass movement for bringing about a turn in afforestation and forest conservation.

Thanks to his patriotic intention to turn the DPRK into a socialist paradise with green woods, signal progress has been made in the work for forest restoration over the past decade.

Following the construction of the splendid Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery, tree nurseries with automated and streamlined production lines sprang up in North Hamgyong Province and other provinces.

Material and technical foundations were strengthened at city and county tree nurseries. As a result, the nationwide sapling production has increased more than two times as compared with the one of ten years ago and the area planted with trees expanded every year. In the course, more than 12 000 units won the title of Socialist Patriotic Forest.

Forest science research bases were built across the country to further enliven the afforestation and forest conservation based on science and technology.

This year, the second forest restoration campaign began. Amid the great patriotic zeal of all the people for increasing the country's forest resources, 100 million and tens of millions of trees were planted throughout the country in spring alone.
