Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) -- Amid a mass campaign for spring tree planting, more than 100 million trees have been planted in the DPRK.
Officials and working people in the capital city of Pyongyang planted Larix lepolepis, pine-nut, chestnut and other trees in its surrounding mountains. They also planted various kinds of trees like oaks in parks and pleasure grounds of the city, adding beauty to its scenery.
Those in South Hwanghae Province planted more trees than in the same period of last year, with a goal to plant trees in the optimum period so as to raise the survival rate.
Nampho and Kaesong cities and other regions, too, planted many trees, taking measures to ensure the quality of tree planting and raise the survival rate of the planted trees with full consideration given to the biological characteristics of species and climatic and soil conditions. -0-
