Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- DPRK players returned home on Tuesday after winning the 2026 AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup held in China.

The recent victory is the fifth one the DPRK team has won the tournament, creating an eye-opening sports myth. And it was qualified for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in 2026.

The players were greeted at Pyongyang International Airport by senior party and government officials, officials in the field of sports and relevant sectors, sportspersons and families.

Sportspersons put garlands around the necks of the players and coaches and presented bouquets to them, congratulating them on their success.

When a bus carrying the women footballers passed Jonwi, Podunamu, Kaeson, Changjon and other streets of Pyongyang, working citizens and students warmly waved to them who glorified the honor of the country.
