Pyongyang, April 10 (KCNA) -- The respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un took a measure to convene Party congresses and plenary meetings and political bureau meetings of the Party Central Committee and other important Party meetings on a regular basis and decisively improve their operation with the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea as the starting point. And he set forth the most revolutionary and scientific strategies and goals for remarkably increasing the leadership ability and fighting efficiency of the Party.

While personally guiding the first workshop of chief secretaries of city and county Party committees, the General Secretary clarified the importance of cities and counties, the lowest-guiding units for implementing the Party's policies, and the position of the city and county Party committees, and indicated the tasks and ways for strengthening the city and county Party committees, including the issue of decisively raising the political and practical level and ability of their chief secretaries and steadily improving their work style and traits.

The original ideas and theories of the General Secretary on the building of Party organization at a new historic stage were advanced at the special workshop for officials in the Party life guidance section at organizational departments of Party committees at all levels of the WPK.

Since the Eighth Party Congress, the Party Central Committee convened more than ten plenary meetings, 20-odd meetings of the Political Bureau, scores of meetings of the Secretariat and other major Party meetings to open a new heyday of strengthening the whole Party and an era of comprehensive development of the national rejuvenation and adopt important lines and decisions for the security and wellbeing of the people one after another. And then it confidently organized and waged a revolutionary struggle for bringing about great and gigantic changes.

While guiding the Second Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK, the General Secretary said that the WPK pays special attention to the work style and moral traits of cadres in transforming them along revolutionary lines, and advanced a new policy of transforming cadres along revolutionary lines. And he made sure that the whole Party waged a dynamic struggle to eliminate the abuse of power, bureaucracy and illicit accumulation of wealth among officials.

The 30th Enlarged Meeting of the Secretariat of the Eighth Central Committee of the Party marked an important turning point in more clearly proving the nature and character of the WPK with the people-first principle as its mode of existence and climate of the Party and strengthening its militant might in every way.

The Ninth Congress of the WPK, recorded as a political event which set another milestone in the history of the sacred struggle for the development of the great Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Party and the victorious advance of socialist construction, provided a sure guarantee for further enhancing the leadership function and role of the Party in conformity with the demand of the line of Party building in the new era and as required by the new stage of more innovative and intensified struggle. -0-
