Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected various sectors of the national economy.

At the Pukchang Thermal Power Complex the premier stressed the need to conduct the check-up and repair of generating equipment in a far-sighted way so as to normalize the production of electricity in winter and to push ahead with the work to reinforce and perfect the heat insulation and de-dusting systems of boilers and steam conduits in cooperation with scientific research units.

At the Namdok Youth Coal Mine of the Pukchang Area Youth Coal-mining Complex the premier met and encouraged coal miners who are bringing about good results every day through the patriotic movement for increased coal production, and he underlined the need to give precedence to prospecting and tunneling and, at the same time, to continue increasing the coal production by raising the operating rate of face equipment.

Acquainting himself with the operation of the Sunchon Phosphatic Fertilizer Factory and the progress made in the construction project for establishing the C-1 chemical industry, he stressed the need to rationally compose the processes and the systems with the main emphasis on lowering the energy consumption to the maximum, and take economic and technical measures to fully display the production capacity of the existing fertilizer and chemical factories.

He underscored the need for the Pyongyang Mining Machinery Factory to put spurs to the production of custom-built equipment and consolidate its scientific and technological forces and production foundation so as to raise the production capacity and processing accuracy and improve the quality of products.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of producing a large number of efficient coal mining equipment, the issue for relevant fields, including the metal and machine-building industries, and units to supply in good time the enough equipment and materials needed for increasing the production of electricity and coal and the issue of paying deep attention to employees' living conditions.
