Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang, which is turning into a magnificent city with the great golden age of construction, is creating a history of huge change not only on the ground but also underground.

The Pyongyang Metro, which is associated with the noble love of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il for the people, has been successfully remodeled under the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, contributing to promoting the people's wellbeing.

Comrade Kim Jong Un gave precious instructions on remodeling the stations of the Pyongyang Metro into the ones like the terminal of Pyongyang International Airport, and on issues arising in the management and operation of the metro.

Kaeson Station was remodeled ahead of May Day, the international holiday of the working people of the whole world, in 2019 and most of the metro stations have been modernized to meet the requirements of the new century, adding beauty to the scenery of the capital city of Pyongyang, true to the intention of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The underground halls and connecting corridors of Jonu, Sungri, Kwangbok, Ragwon and other stations, and their escalator sections, ceilings, pillars and walls were constructed more graceful with various styles of decorations and lightings, thus opening a new phase in formative art.

Benches, TVs, newspaper boards and temperature and humidity electric signs have been arranged in a rational way to promote the convenience of passengers waiting for subway trains.

The new-type subway trains made by DPRK workers on the principle of convenience and architectural beauty first run, adding to the beauty of changed underground Pyongyang.

The Pyongyang Metro, which Pyongyang citizens love to use, is being turned into a reliable means of transportation, a place for ideological and cultural education and good underground palace to be recorded long in history. -0-
