Pyongyang, April 3 (KCNA) -- Riganggo is a kind of liquor distilled in combination of pear and ginger famous in Hwanghae Province of Korea. Riganggo means pear and ginger in Korean.
It is recorded in old books that Riganggo is one of famous liquors in the country, together with Kamhong-ro of Pyongyang.
Riganggo is cream-colored liquor with refreshing and delicious flavors.
From olden times the residents in Hwanghae Province have distilled the liquor for their dietary life.
The method of distilling Riganggo is as follows:
Ferment starch-containing materials with malt.
Distil crude liquor from them.
Mix it with pear and ginger juice and honey, and complete distilling Riganggo on a low heat.
The distillation of Riganggo was registered as a national intangible cultural heritage in May 2018. -0-
