2023 Socialist Emulation to Increase Per-Hectare Grain Yield Reviewed in DPRK

Pyongyang, February 22 (KCNA) -- On Feb. 21, there was a meeting for reviewing the 2023 socialist emulation to increase the per-hectare yield of grain.

Present there were Ri Chol Man, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the Agricultural Commission, Ri Tu Song, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, officials of the Agricultural Commission, the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and the units participating in the emulation and exemplary agricultural workers.

The participants watched a documentary "2023, a year of radical change in agricultural production".

Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK), read out review data.

He analyzed a series of defects revealed during the socialist emulation, their causes and lessons and referred to the tasks for attaining without fail the grain production goal set forth by the Workers' Party of Korea this year.

The speeches referred to the successes and experience gained in the efforts to boost grain production.

The standings were announced at the meeting.

North Phyongan Province, Pyongyang Municipality, Sukchon and Jaeryong counties and Oguk Farm in Anak County were awarded citations in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK and rotating pennants.

Citations of the C.C., UAWK and rotating pennants were conferred on the Anak County Irrigation Management Station which won the socialist emulation among city and county irrigation management stations.

Outlines for evaluating to select ten best agricultural counties and 30 best farms were announced at the meeting. -0-
