Chairman Kim Jong Il's Ardent Love for People

One night, a few days before the Fifth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Chairman Kim Jong Il offered a seat to an official who entered his office and turned his eyes to the document presented by the official.

After a while, telephone rang and Kim Jong Il was told on the phone about good news.

Later, the official asked the Chairman to tell him about the joy on the eve of the WPK Congress. The Chairman told him that it was news about citizens moving into new houses in Chollima Street.

Saying that people were very pleased to move into new houses in Chollima Street, the Chairman noted that the standard of the work of officials should be set at whether the people liked or not.

He said that he had never thought of himself apart from the people and it was his determination and desire to devote his whole life to their sake.

It was his noble idea that patriotism and revolution stem from the ardent love for the people. -0-
