One day in September 1973, the Political Committee of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea adopted a special decision that President Kim Il Sung should take a rest for one month.

So the President came to leave for a recreation center, but the schedule of recreation had not been carried out since the first day.

When an official earnestly called upon him to have a rest according to the decision of the Political Committee of the WPK Central Committee, the President said that he could not take a rest in peace as he had a lot of work to do.

Several days passed amid such dialogues.

In one of the days, the President visited the fifth workteam of the then Ryongbuk Co-op Farm in Yomju County and gave field guidance at different units. And he met senior officials of North Phyongan Province and discussed affairs of the province with them.

Though officials asked him to take a rest even for a few days, the President decided to stop recreation and leave for Pyongyang without delay.

When the officials repeatedly asked him to have a rest at the center, he said that rest is not a special thing for him but it is a rest for him to talk with workers and peasants, settle their difficulties and please them.

As a result, the special decision of the Political Committee of the Party Central Committee was not executed. -0-
