Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- The countryside of the DPRK strives to install pumping equipment for dry-field irrigation according to the plan for this year.

The installation of the planned pumping equipment for dry-field irrigation has been completed and trial operations conducted in rural areas of North Hamgyong Province.

Officials of the province meticulously organized the timely transport of equipment and materials, so that the installation of pumping equipment couldn't be delayed in cities and counties.

Cities and counties of South Phyongan Province took measures to supply manpower, materials and equipment for irrigation projects and pushed ahead with the planned work while solving knotty problems in a timely way.

Employees of city and county power transmission and distribution stations in Kangwon Province carried out the electric wire-laying projects in a week in close contact with relevant farms, thus contributing to installing pumping equipment as scheduled. -0-
