Pyongyang, March 31 (KCNA) -- On the occasion of the school opening day, all the teaching staff of Moranbong Secondary School No. 1 in the DPRK are looking back on the love and benevolence of President Kim Il Sung who visited the school, where its first opening ceremony was taking place after the Fatherland Liberation War, and indicated the orientation and ways for the rehabilitation and construction of the school.

On April 1, 1954, the President visited Moranbong Secondary School No. 1 (then Pyongyang Primary School No. 14) to watch notebooks of pupils and give instructions on making the contents of teaching in conformity with the actual conditions of the country and studying and perfecting the educational system and methods.

Shortly after, he sent a piano and thousands of notebooks as gifts and more than 1 430 pieces of educational equipment and cultural apparatuses of over 100 kinds while paying attention to the school work.

In the 1980s, Chairman Kim Jong Il said that the school should be built as a model of the city. And he chose its site at an excellent place on the bank of the Pothong River, indicated the orientation and ways for its construction and sent a lot of educational equipment.

On April 1, 2012, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sent many educational equipment and facilities to the school on the occasion of the anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's field guidance and the new school year.

The officials and teachers of the school have devoted themselves to teaching and education for over 70 years, thus creating and introducing thousands of new teaching methods and training many talents to contribute to the development of education and the prosperity of the country.

Teachers of the school presented writings they created together with students to the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un several times, giving pleasure to him.

The school won national contests and exhibitions and trained many winners of the July 15 Top Honor Prize and obtained the title of the Ten IT Model Units.

Meanwhile, the school is increasing the ranks of October 8 Model Professor and holders of academic degrees and titles through teaching contests, seminars on teaching methods and experience-sharing meetings. -0-
