Pyongyang, September 30 (KCNA) -- Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of various sectors.

At the Samjigang Farm in Jaeryong County and the Sowon Farm in Pyoksong County, he learned about the paddy rice yields according to species, manuring and cultivation of after-crops and the harvesting situation and called on South Hwanghae Province, a major granary, to reap a bumper crop to glorify this significant year with increased grain production.

He stressed the need to properly set the harvesting time in conformity with the ripening rate of rice ears and geographical conditions and rationally distribute manpower and farm machines in order to gather the grains cultivated with much effort without any waste and generalize the excellent experience gained by agricultural production units throughout the country.

At the Pupho Mine, the premier heard a detailed report on the operation of the mine and the project for expanding its capacity and called for reinforcing and perfecting the mining and transport system to provide a guarantee for revitalizing production at a high level as the production processes including the crushing and flotation processes have been fully provided.

After going round various production sites of the Pyongyang Trolley Bus Factory, he took a battery-operated passenger bus on its trial to acquaint himself with its technical condition and said that the officials, technicians and workers of the factory and relevant units should bear in mind the intention of the Workers' Party of Korea, which always pays deep attention to the public transport issue of the capital city, put spurs to the modernization of equipment and steadily improve the safety and performance of battery-operated buses.

At the construction site of the farm machine institute under the Agricultural Commission which is nearing completion, the premier learned about the progress of the construction and referred to the ways for successfully building the institute which will play an important role in realizing the programme for the rural revolution in a new era. -0-
