Chollima Steel Complex Boosts Production

Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- The Chollima Steel Complex in the DPRK strives to attain the goal of producing iron and steel.

The steel shop is increasing the amount of molten iron per charge with the method of high-temperature oxidation by continuous charging method and oxygen blowing while boosting the cooperation between shifts and shortening the melting time.

The rolling shop has launched a mass technical innovation movement to improve the performance of equipment, thus raising the rolling yield more than ever before.

Meanwhile, the complex is pushing ahead with the work to improve the Juche-based iron production system and expand its production capacity.

The technical team of the complex has completed the technical preparations for the construction of a new UHP electric arc furnace and a base for producing electrodes with a capacity of thousands of tons in close contact with scientific research institutes, thus contributing to perfecting the Korean-style method of iron production and strengthening the production foundation. -0-
