DPRK Premier Inspects Various Units in South Hamgyong Province and Nampho City

Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, inspected various units in South Hamgyong Province and Nampho City.

Going round the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm, a large-scale vegetable production base, the premier said that its officials and employees should put the greenhouse farming on a higher-level scientific and intensive basis, increase the variety of vegetables and improve the management so as to bring about innovation in the vegetable production, true to the noble intention of the Party to supply fresh vegetables to the people in Hamhung City and South Hamgyong Province all the year round.

He visited the Ryongsong Machine Complex, where he encouraged the officials, scientists, technicians and workers out in implementing the decisions of the Sixth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK, and stressed the need to further glorify the tradition of the complex which has fully demonstrated the might of self-reliance in every decade of the revolution.

He called for giving precedence to designing, taking thorough measures for the supply of raw and other materials and conducting the quality inspection according to processes in a responsible manner to bring about a radical improvement in the quality of products. And he urged relevant units to produce and supply products under contract in time.

Making rounds of various farms, farm machine stations and organic compound fertilizer factories in Hamhung City and Hamju County of South Hamgyong Province and Kangso District and Onchon and Ryonggang counties of Nampho City, he stressed the need to direct efforts to increasing the fertility of soil and securing water resources for the culture of preceding crops wheat and barley, step up the repair and maintenance of farm machines and strictly observe the scientific and technological requirements in the production of organic compound fertilizer.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue for officials to plan and push ahead with all work in a responsible manner while holding fast to science and technology as lifeline, the issue of enhancing the role of the State Commission of Science and Technology and the Quality Control Commission in the work of raising the quality of products and the issue of ensuring the proper production and supply of farming materials to suit the specific conditions in the relevant areas.

Meanwhile, the premier learned about the food supply at the grain sales stations in Nampho City and took necessary measures. -0-
