Pyongyang, March 31 (KCNA) -- South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK concentrates all its efforts on minimizing the drought damage to crops.
City and counties are taking agricultural technological measures to improve the growth conditions of earlier crops by securing the source of water to the maximum and watering fields and spraying nutrient solution on them in a responsible way.
Readjusting and reinforcing pumping stations for dry-field irrigation and putting them on a normal track, agricultural workers in Jangyon, Pyoksong and Songhwa counties are striving to prevent drought damage by using mobile water pumps and sprinkler trucks.
Farms in Yonan, Sinchon and Anak counties have watered many farm fields every day by applying rational methods after working out proper plans.
Jaeryong, Kangryong and Unchon counties set the order of watering according to farm fields and have watered a lot of farm fields by mobilizing manpower and transport means while securing the source of water.
Officials of commissions, ministries and national agencies went to farms in South Hwanghae Province to solve the problems arising in operating pumping equipment and securing the source of water. -0-
