Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- Officials and working people in the forestry sector of the DPRK are striving to protect the forests from harmful insects.
Officials of the Forestry Guidance Bureau under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection drew up technical guidelines and distributed them to relevant units, while giving precedence to the provision of efficacious pesticides and stepping up the work to put the insect monitoring on an IT basis.
Meanwhile, measures have been taken to cope with any situation while conducting regular and intensive inspection in forest areas.
Officials and working people in Samjiyon City of Ryanggang Province and Hyangsan County of Jagang Province are taking scientific measures to prevent damage by forest insects and making preparations for using the pine-eye bee.
Hoeryong City of North Hamgyong Province and Unchon County of South Hwanghae Province are increasing the observation posts and securing necessary chemicals and sprayers so as to prevent damage by harmful insects.
Taegwan County of North Phyongan Province established a system of information for forest rangers and forecasters to strictly monitor the forests. -0-
