Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- Nampho Municipality of the DPRK directs efforts to afforestation and forest conservation.
This year alone, fire-arresting lines, stone barriers and catch basins were built in tens of places of the municipality, and forest fire monitoring posts were set in more than 120 places.
Kangso District improved the practical qualifications of afforesting workers, gave all the institutions and enterprises assignments to take care of trees and built firebreaks and stone barriers in qualitative way.
Officials and working people in Taean District remodeled the greenhouse with plastic sheets to lay a foundation for producing saplings in all seasons.
Chollima District has created more than 100 hectares of Evodia daniellii Benn forests and pushed ahead with the anti-land-sliding project.
Hanggu and Waudo districts and Ryonggang county also increased the number of forest fire monitoring posts and sent necessary personnel and equipment. And they are taking good care of forests of high economic value and reserved forests. -0-
