Rice-transplanting Finished on Main Areas in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 9 (KCNA) -- Thanks to the efforts of agricultural officials and workers and helpers, the rice-transplanting on the main areas was completed in the DPRK.

Officials of the Agricultural Commission and agricultural guidance organs at all levels launched operations and guidance to finish rice-transplanting qualitatively in the right time.

While directing efforts to preparing the masters of farming ideologically, morally, technically and practically, they introduced nutritive cold-bed rice-seedlings into more areas than last year, thus providing a sure guarantee for high yields.

South Hwanghae Province took measures to intensify technical guidance at ensuring the quality of growing rice seedlings and harrowing and rationally mobilize and use farm machines by strengthening cooperation with members of the scientific farming promotion team.

Haeju City and Anak and Jaeryong counties overfulfilled their daily plans every day.

Dozens of farms, including the Township Farm in Kangryong County and the Sowon Farm in Pyoksong County, finished rice-transplanting on the main areas earlier than the last year.

South Phyongan Province completed the rice-transplanting on the main areas until May 31, observing the scientific and technological requirements for rice-transplanting.

Rice-transplanting was successfully concluded on farms of North Hwanghae Province.

Farms in Mangyongdae and Rangnang districts of Pyongyang Municipality finished rice-transplanting qualitatively in the right time.

Yomju, Cholsan and Sonchon counties of North Phyongan Province attained good results in rice-transplanting by concentrating manpower and farm machines on the areas with many paddy fields.

Officials and agricultural workers in Kangwon and South Hamgyong provinces are also cultivating rice seedlings in a scientific way through proper water control and fertilizer applying in the same spirit as was displayed in finishing the rice-transplanting in the main. -0-
