Russia Stands by Side of DPRK, Says Russian Ambassador

Pyongyang, March 21 (KCNA) -- Alexandr Matsegora, Russian ambassador to the DPRK, made a speech at the reception held on March 17 to mark the 74th anniversary of the conclusion of the DPRK-Russia agreement on economic and cultural cooperation.

He said that Russia supports the appeal of Pyongyang to oppose the provocative acts of the U.S. and its followers, which are worsening the regional situation while resorting to such aggressive actions as large-scale military drills, introduction of strategic attack weapons into the Korean peninsula and engaging in confrontational rhetoric.

The DPRK was compelled to take just counteractions due to such acts of the U.S. and its followers, he noted.

The ambassador stressed that Russia is standing in the same trench with the DPRK in the struggle to establish a new and fair world order free from the U.S. policy of coercion. -0-
