Pyongyang, February 21 (KCNA) -- Teachers and researchers at Kim Chaek University of Technology in the DPRK have made hundreds of scientific research achievements in the past one year.

Research groups of the university went to the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex and the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex to solve the sci-tech problems arising in the normal operation of the floating preheating-style oxygen heat blast furnace and established the Korean-style heavy rail steel production process.

Researchers of the Mirae Industrial Technology Institute and the Mining Engineering Faculty took technical measures for building the crystal mirabilite production line and introduced a rational mining method for increasing the production of minerals while massively mining ore.

Teachers and researchers of the faculties of automation engineering, industrial economic management, IT and software technology made a big stride in putting the regional-industry factories on an IT basis by controlling the quality analysis of products and establishing an integrated production system for raising production and operation rate with less manpower.

Researchers at the Biomedical Engineering Faculty developed a new tool for rapidly and correctly detecting malignant viruses or bacteria in aerosol form and preventing the infection and spread of pathogenic microorganisms.

The university made research achievements conducive to boosting the agricultural production in a stable and sustained way by introducing a plant growth factor and increasing the per-hectare yield by using electrical pulse water treatment device for cultivating grain.

Besides, many scientific research successes were made in developing equipment for automatic inspection of surface defects and geometrical dimensions of products, producing and using insulators for electrical insulation and mechanical support of high-voltage lines, and establishing the production process of aluminum sheet and thus contributing to ensuring the growth trend of the national economy as a whole.

The university has confirmed the economic effectiveness of scientific research achievements in practice and pushed ahead with the work to expand and introduce them into various fields of the national economy. -0-
