Pyongyang, May 13 (KCNA) -- DPRK weightlifter Pang Un Chol won the 2026 Asian Weightlifting Championships which is being held in India.

The championships brought together more than 170 men and women players from over 20 countries and regions including the DPRK, China, Uzbekistan and Iran.

In men's 60kg category on May 11, Pang lifted 130kg in snatch, 174kg in clean and jerk (new world record, new Asian record) and 304 kg in total to take the first places in snatch, clean and jerk and total respectively and bagged three gold medals. -0-
