February 17 Shock Brigade of Scientists and Technicians Makes Successes

Pyongyang, December 21 (KCNA) -- Members of the February 17 Shock Brigade of Scientists and Technicians dispatched to the Ministry of Electric Power Industry of the DPRK are making successes in their scientific researches.

Scientists and technicians from Kim Chaek University of Technology and other units have developed Korean-style lightening rods and installed them on pylons, thus minimizing damage to be caused by lightning strikes.

The impulse high voltage generator, which has been restored by scientists and technicians of the Electric Power Industry Research Institute under the Ministry of Electric Power Industry and some other units, are proving effective in the development of lightening arresters, breakers, disconnectors, etc. and in the performance test of various electric equipment to be involved in the power system.

Scientists and technicians at the Electricity Institute under the State Academy of Sciences, too, registered similar successes. -0-
