Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- All the people across the country significantly celebrated the May Day.

Streets and villages in Pyongyang and provinces, cities and counties, industrial establishments and farms were filled with joy and optimism of the workers, farmers, intellectuals and other patriotic working people enoying colorful sports and amusement games.

At the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the masses solemnly recalled the sacred life of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, who built a socialist state where the people are the masters and glorified the dignity and honor of the working masses at the highest level.

Officials, working people, service personnel and schoolchildren visited the statues of the great leaders on Mansu Hill and in other parts of the country and mosaics depicting the peerlessly great men and laid flower baskets, bouquets and flowers before paying tribute to them.

At the Memorial Museum of Combat Feats at the Overseas Military Operations, the visitors looked round photos of the martyrs and relics and materials showing their feats.

Colorful performances were given at theatres and outdoor stages in the capital city and other parts of the country, adding to the joy of the holiday.
