Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) -- After the Eleventh Congress of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, dozens of young people in South Phyongan Province of the DPRK have volunteered to work at major worksites for implementing the Workers' Party of Korea's decisions.
Those in Tokchon and Kaechon cities, Pukchang, Mundok and Taedong counties vowed to work at coal mines in the western areas of the country.
Many youths in Phyongsong City and Hoechang, Phyongwon, Jungsan and Unsan counties volunteered for difficult and labor consuming worksites, including raw materials base station and construction brigade.
Youth league members in Maengsan and Sinyang counties petitioned to work at youth work-teams for maintaining roads over mountains.
A meeting was held in Phyongsong City on May 20 to congratulate the volunteers.
Petition certificates were awarded to the volunteers and speeches were made at the meeting attended by officials concerned, youth league officials and youths.
Presenting bouquets of flowers to the volunteers leaving for their new revolutionary posts, officials and young people in the province encouraged them. -0-
