Winter Camping Begins in DPRK

Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- The first-term winter camping began at the Songdowon International Children's Camp in the DPRK.

A ceremony of starting the camping took place on January 9.

Kim Jong Sun, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Paek Song Guk, chief secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the WPK, Mun Chol, chairman of the C.C., Socialist Patriotic Youth League, and officials concerned congratulated the members of the Children's Union from Pyongyang Municipality, North and South Phyongan provinces, North and South Hwanghae provinces, Jagang Province, Nampho Municipality and Kaesong Municipality who participated in the camping.

The participants in the ceremony laid a flower basket and bouquets before the statues of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il at the camp and made a bow to them.

At the ceremony, a reporter and speakers called upon all the schoolchildren to acquire rich and versatile knowledge through camping and prepare themselves to be true sons and daughters, young revolutionaries of the socialist country with noble moral traits and strong physical strength.

At the end of the ceremony there was a march-past of campers. -0-
