Expedition of Schoolchildren Arrives at Phophyong

Pyongyang, February 4 (KCNA) -- The expedition of schoolchildren from across the DPRK on the march to trace the course of the 250-mile Journey for National Liberation arrived at Phophyong on February 3.

Fluttering the flag of the expedition, its members entered the place, where the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung crossed the Amnok River with his firm resolve not to return home until Korea was liberated. They were warmly welcomed by officials, working people and schoolchildren in Kim Hyong Jik County of Ryanggang Province.

The expedition members held a meeting upon their arrival in the compound before the statue of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung at the Phophyong Revolutionary Site.

Present there were Kim Jong Sun, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ri Thae Il, chief secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the WPK, Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, officials concerned, youth league officials and members of the expedition.

The members of the expedition laid a floral basket and bouquets at the statue of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and paid tribute to him.

Read out at the meeting was a letter to the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un presented by the participants in the expedition along the route of the 250-mile Journey for National Liberation.

In their letter, all the expedition members made a report on the successful completion of their study tour, held on the occasion of the centenary of the Journey made by the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and the 50th anniversary of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il's first expedition along this route, and the safe arrival at Phophyong.
