Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- The Fifth Sweet and Biscuit Sculpture Show took place at the Chongryu Restaurant in the DPRK from April 9 to 11 on the occasion of the significant April holiday.
Presented to the show were more than 1 000 sugar and biscuit sculptures created by public catering and external service units and foodstuff factories in Pyongyang.
True to the intention of the Workers' Party of Korea to improve the people's diet and further develop the food culture, cooks and skilled workers of relevant units produced and presented sculptures of various themes.
The Chongryu Restaurant presented sweet sculptures including a large sweet sculpture depicting a newly-built regional-industry factory and its various products. They drew attention of visitors for novel idea and unique depiction.
Sweet and biscuit sculptures, presented by the Okryu Restaurant and the Haebangsan Hotel, too, won a high appreciation of visitors for their good taste, high nutritional value and sophisticated formative artistry.
There was a demonstration of cooks producing sculptures within set time with their skilled performance.
The results of the jury were announced and diplomas, medals and certificates were awarded to the successful units and participants. -0-
