Rural Dwelling Houses Built in Ryanggang Province

Pyongyang, November 17 (KCNA) -- The construction of thousands of rural dwellings planned for this year has been successfully completed in Ryanggang Province of the DPRK.

The whole province was astir with the ceremonies of moving into new houses held one after another in the counties of Unhung, Paekam, Pochon, Taehongdan, Kim Jong Suk, Kim Hyong Jik, Kim Hyong Gwon, Phungso, Samsu and Kapsan and the city of Hyesan, and reverberated with the songs boundlessly lauding the Workers' Party of Korea that the people sang with pleasure.

The cosy dwelling houses and public and production buildings built in harmony with the sceneries peculiar to the highlands while ensuring modernity, cultural refinement and diversity are the fruition of the noble devotion of the WPK to successfully turn the countryside into rich and cultural ideal villages with modern technology and civilization and thus achieve the rapid development of the socialist countryside.

An inauguration ceremony of public buildings at the Saphyong Farm and a ceremony of moving into new houses at the Namphung Farm in Kapsan County were held respectively on the spots, rounding off the rural construction in the province for this significant year.

Present at the ceremonies were Ri Thae Il, chief secretary of the provincial committee of the WPK, Kim Chol Nam, chairman of the provincial people's committee, officials of the Party and power organs in the province and the county, builders and agricultural workers. Congratulatory addresses and speeches were made there.

The modern hall of culture, leisure complex and others were filled with joy and optimism of working people. And the laughter of frolicsome children resounded at the nursery and kindergarten.

Officials and builders extended congratulations to the working people seeing the nameplates on the gates of their new houses.

Agricultural workers and residents gave cheerful dancing parties, the villages were in a festive mood, and fireworks were set off in the nocturnal sky over the area of Mt Paektu. -0-
