Pyongyang, January 21 (KCNA) -- Young people in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, volunteered to work at major theaters of socialist construction called by the Workers' Party of Korea.
More than 800 young people volunteered to be shock brigade members in the grand socialist construction site with the resolve to translate the grandiose plan and desire of the Party into reality.
With a single mind to become a model information worker and agitator of the Party, a woman graduate from Kim Hyong Jik University of Education was determined to work in the area of Mt. Paektu.
The enthusiasm to devote all to building the people's ideal street as early as possible was displayed among young people in Mangyongdae, Pothonggang, Tongdaewon, Rangnang, Hyongjesan, Ryokpho and Sunan districts who volunteered to work at district construction brigades.
There are university graduates who volunteered to work at schools in islet villages and a member of the youth league who volunteered to work at the water supply and sewerage station.
A meeting to congratulate the volunteers took place at the Pyongyang Municipal Youth Park Open-Air Theatre on Monday. Present at the meeting were Hong Chol Jin, secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the youth league and youth and students.
Certificates were awarded to the volunteers and a congratulatory address and speeches were made there. -0-
