Pyongyang, March 20 (KCNA) -- Young people in Kangwon and Ryanggang provinces of the DPRK have volunteered for difficult and labor-consuming sectors of socialist construction.
Those of Wonsan and Munchon cities and Changdo, Sepho, Thongchon, Popdong and Hoeyang counties in Kangwon Province petitioned their youth league organizations to send them to youth road workteams, youth workteams for maintaining ridge ways, and construction brigades.
Those of Kimhwa and Phyonggang counties volunteered to work at raw material base stations.
Graduates of Wonsan Ri Su Dok Teacher Training College, Wonsan University of Education and Wonsan University of Medicine were determined to work at schools, branch schools and clinics in the forefront, mountain and islet villages.
Youths in Samsu and Kim Jong Suk counties of Ryanggang Province volunteered to work at raw material base stations and farms seething with the struggle to attain the grain production goal.
Those of Kim Hyong Gwon County, too, vowed to devote their sweat of creation and efforts to rural housing construction sites.
Meetings for cheering the volunteers were held at the Songdowon Youth Open-air Theatre and the Ryanggang Provincial Art Theatre.
Certificates of petition were awarded to the volunteers and congratulatory addresses made to be followed by oath-taking speeches at the meetings attended by officials, youth league officials, youth and students in the provinces.
Officials, youth and students encouraged the volunteers, giving bouquets to them. -0-
