Young Volunteers Increase in DPRK

Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- Young people in Ryanggang Province of the DPRK have advanced into difficult and labour-consuming sectors with their enthusiasm to glorify this significant year marking the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea as a year of performing feats to be recorded with pride on their personal accounts of youth.

Determined to work miracles and innovations in implementing the WPK's regional development policy, youths in Phungso County asked the youth league organization to dispatch them to the county construction brigade, and those in Unhung County advanced into raw material base stations.

Youths in Kim Jong Suk and Taehongdan counties volunteered to work in rural areas, and youth league members in Paekam County and other counties at remote posts in charge of managing ridge ways.

A meeting took place at the Ryanggang Provincial Hall of Culture on February 23 to congratulate those volunteers.

At the meeting attended by Kang Sin Chang, secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the WPK, youth league officials and young people, certificates were awarded to the volunteers and then a congratulatory address and pledge-making speeches were made.

At the end of the meeting, there was a congratulatory performance.

Officials, youth and students encouraged the volunteers leaving for new revolutionary posts, giving bouquets to them. -0-
