Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- Ten years have passed since the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made public a famous work "Let the Entire Party, the Whole Army and All the People Conduct a Vigorous Forest Restoration Campaign to Cover the Mountains of the Country with Green Woods" on February 26, 2015.

In his work, he comprehensively clarified the issues related to forest restoration and stressed the need for the Party and working people's organizations to dynamically conduct the movements for winning the titles of Socialist Patriotic Forest and Model County in Afforestation.

In hearty response to his noble will of patriotism, a new mass movement has been launched across the whole society and many units won the title of Socialist Patriotic Forest for the past decade.

Party and power organs across the country worked out clear long-term goals and stage-by-stage plans and conducted meticulous operations and command to unconditionally carry out the tasks for forest restoration, arousing the mental power of the masses.

Amid the practical successes being made in the afforestation and forest conservation, the Ponghwa Chemical Factory, the Unhung Farm in Thaechon County and the Tansan Farm in Pakchon County were the first to be awarded the title of Socialist Patriotic Forest in January 2019.

The enthusiasm of the working people to plant and tend even one more tree has been heightened day by day. As a result, more than 380 units won the title in 2020.

In 2021, the title of Socialist Patriotic Forest was awarded to many units including Unsan County of North Phyongan Province, Kwail County of South Hwanghae Province and Chollima District of Nampho Municipality.

Last year, Kangwon Province effectively organized a demonstration of model unit and brought into full play the enthusiasm for emulation among regions and units. As a result, hundreds of units won the title.

The movement is now going on in all fields and units, demonstrating its great vitality. -0-
